Right now we're in the middle of the pre-Christmas rush. You too, we know! The traffic is heavier on the roads, and faster and more aggressive. The malls are packed, the couriers run off their feet. And now the questions on every Queensberry client's mind are, will I get my order before Christmas — and why will you be closing down over the holidays??? The holiday season stress-tests many businesses, but especially companies like Queensberry, so they're good questions, and deserve an answer… Our challenge Before Christmas, as this little graphic shows, our orders increase by at To View More >>

“Art is the most intense mode of individualism that the world has known.” – Oscar Wilde In this series we shine a light on artists expressing their individuality, documenting what they love, working hard on their craft, and sharing it with the world. We spoke to Joel McDowell, a Taupo based photographer who aims to evoke emotion in people through his work, and capture the hidden gems our beautiful country has to offer. How do you stay inspired?  That is a good question. Surrounding myself with other creatives, in all mediums and experience levels, is a good way to bounce To View More >>

Hi Everyone, This is a quick message to let you know that New Zealand will be moving from Alert Level 4 to Alert Level 3 on Tuesday 28th April, which means we will be able to reopen production at that time, with strict guidelines to keep our staff safe. Thank you everyone for your patience over the lockdown, and special thanks to those who followed our advice and continued to send their orders in. You — and those whose work we couldn’t deliver before lockdown started — will be at the head of the line on the 28th. And if you do have orders to send, please do so as soon as you To View More >>

The four-week New Zealand COVID-19 shut-down starts 26 March. And since announcing that Queensberry's production will be on hold for the duration we’ve had lots of people asking whether Print Shop will be available. It's obviously unfortunate timing, but the short answer is yes. However, order deliveries will be delayed. Print Shop functionality will remain active in Workspace, and we encourage you to continue setting up — not just Print Shop but also, if you haven't done so yet, your standard Image Gallery shopping carts. The shut-down of person-to-person To View More >>

Our friends in the northern hemisphere may find it hard to imagine the festive season without snow, hot cocoa, and a warm fireplace, but in Auckland, New Zealand, where we're based, Christmas day is more likely to be beach adventures and a barbeque. We spoke to Kate Roberge  about what makes a New Zealand summer, and our unique festive season, so special. And what does she do? She sends us photos with snow in them! Do you have a favourite or secret go-to spot in NZ? Jacks Point definitely. It's right outside of Queenstown, on the east side of the lake. There are about To View More >>

Everything we do is about adding value to your photography … to help sell your art, your craft, your intellectual property, your time! Matting a work of art is a powerful, longstanding way to add to its worth, and we offer matting in several products — like albums, frames and boxes. But we also offer “loose” matted prints, and new customers are sometimes surprised to find they’re just as beautifully presented. We supply them with an embossed cover sheet to protect the mat and print … and make the treasure inside more special. The embossed Q device is important To View More >>

There are only a few weeks in Winter where the setting sun can beam its light all the way through New Zealand’s Milford Sound, and I was dedicated to getting the perfect photograph of it. But when I set that goal I had no idea it would take me four years to accomplish. After three years of trying, my fourth trip to the Sound left me with some of my strongest memories, and taught me a lot. It was my last, eighth day of waiting: getting wet in the bush, heavy rain clouds hanging above me, and no signs of any light passing through the sounds. Disappointed with my fourth unsuccessful trip, I To View More >>

CHOICE, TRUST AND TECHNOLOGY Has your lab stopped offering traditional silver halide printing? It’s sad to see such a gloriously refined technology abandoned. With forty years pro lab experience, and chemicals in our veins, we aren’t ready to turn our backs on traditional photographic printing just yet. In fact we think it retains an important place, and we’re committed to the technology. But here’s why the Big Boy Labs are selling the line that silver halide is finished. Their top priority is, and must be, internal efficiency. They have expensive, high-volume machines to To View More >>

I've really been looking forward to multi-user login to Workspace. Well it's here and it's fantastic. But because it's meant we've had to change the way you log in, some people have found it a bit confusing - so let me explain why it's so cool, and how it works. Until now the only way to give someone access to your account has been to share your login details. It's very common but it's not good practice … and sharing your login means they can do everything that you can in your account. But suppose you have a staff member or second shooter you'd like to upload images and edit events - and nothing To View More >>

We love hearing about the different ways people sell their images and we love that we get to add value to their brand. Below is a series of matted prints photographed by Rachel Russell, based in Marlborough NZ. Rachel sells her prints at the Mistletoe Market in Blenheim, South Island, NZ. We think that's pretty cool and pretty entrepreneurial! When you order individual matted Q-prints they come complete with a Q embossed cover sheet. This not only protects the mat and print, but increases the perceived value. The cover sheet with our Q emboss authenticates that the image To View More >>
